Hindustan Hardy Spicer Limited, is manufacturer of Propeller Shafts and Propeller shaft Components since 1961 under a technical license from Hardy Spicer Limited, UK and Gelenkwellenbau, Germany of GKN Group. In 1985, XLO-GWB Cardan Shafts Limited was established in collaboration with Gelenkwellenbau, Germany and the manufacturing activity started at Nashik, about 180 km. from Mumbai. In 1993, after the expiry of earlier collabortaion agreement, the company entered with into collaboration with GKN Hardy Spicer Ltd., UK. In 1994, the name of the company was changed to Hindustan Hardy Spicer Limited, to align the company with GKN Group. Subsequently a majority of the Propeller Shaft Business of GKN Group have been acquired by DANA Corporation, USA.
