Kalyani Brakes Ltd was manufacturer of hydraulic, air air-over hydraulic brake systems for
automobiles. KBL is involved in the production and sale of hydraulic and air brake components.
The company also trades in brake fluid. Hydraulic brake components including rear brake assembly,
tandem master cylinder, front caliper assembly and rotor discs contributed to around 94.2% to the
turnover. Sales of air brake components contributed to 4.2% to the turnover in FY2000 against
1.4% in FY99. The installed capacity of KBL is 9,103,200 nos of brake components. In FY2000, KBL
started commercial supplies to Telco and Maruti for their new models. Also the company has
started supplying tractor and two wheeler brakes to various customers.
