Andhra Petrochemicals Ltd is manufacturing of 2-Ethyl hexanol (Octanol), Normal butanol, Iso butanol, N-butyraldehyde & I-butyraldehyde. Installed capacity : Oxo alcohols - 30000 tonnes per annum Production level: Oxo alcohols - 19548 tonnes per annum At a rated capacity utilisation of 135 per cent, the company has produced 19,000 tonnes of plasticisers during the first five months, equivalent to the whole of 1998-99. Andhra Petrochemicals Ltd. (APL) has initiated steps for laying a pipeline from Visakhapatnam Port to its plant for importation of propylene as a standby arrangement to meet feedstock requirement for achieving a higher level of output on a consistent basis. This is because the inadequate propylene supplies to the company from HPCL continued up to August 1999 affecting the company's operations.
