CMM Broadcasting Network Limited has launched the digital channel AASTHA on the Thaicom 3 satellite with footprints in over 156 countries all over the world covering India, Bangladesh, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa, Middle East and parts of Europe. CMM is also working at encompassing the Americas for the channels. AASTHA the world's first premium Satellite Digital Channel is dedicated to telecasting India's rich socio-spiritual, cultural, philosophical and mythological heritage to reinforce family bonds. The channel was appointed an Associate Organisation (Sahayogi Sanstha) of the Ministry of Information and Public Relations for Broadcasting, of Maha Kumbh Mela -2001 and telecast 9 hours of program on Kumbh Mela everyday during this period. CMM Broadcasting Network, the company that runs the CMM music channel and faith channel Aastha, has declared a net profit of Rs 2,97,000 for the JQ 2002-3, up a whopping 37 per cent from the figure of Rs 2,17,000 for the corresponding period last year. CMM, the company's digital free to air music channel and Aastha have recently shifted to PAS 10, says the company. Earlier available in 156 countries globally, Aastha and CMM are now available in an additional four countries, the important addition being UK, home probably the largest Indian diaspora.
