GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited (GSKCH), a global nutritional healthcare company present in India since 1958, today declared its financial results for quarter ended September 30, 2005. Sales stood at Rs. 290.6 crores for the quarter, representing growth of 9.1 %. For the quarter, PAT rose 34 % to Rs. 30.3 crores and PBT grew 27.7 % to Rs. 46.5 crores. The increase in PAT has been driven by a strong sales performance supported by the company's comprehensive cost containment programme, said Nick Massey, Managing Director, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd. The company focus on consumer-centric innovation is doing well. The recent launch of new Horlicks Lite has been the first of its kind in India. This launch offers the consumers two products; a health drink and a biscuit. Both of these combine great taste with the goodness of a special formulation to meet the dietary needs of health conscious adults. The company also declared an interim dividend of 80 %. For the nine months ended September 30, 2005, sales stood at Rs. 820.6 crores, 10.6 % over last year. For this period, PBT stood at Rs. 128.1 crores and PAT at Rs. 85.7 crores, 33.4 % and 41.3 % over 2004 levels.
