InterContinental Marine Drive is going to see a change in management with the Ravi Ghai led G L Hotels Ltd (GLHL) taking over the reins from the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) to manage the property. The name of the hotel will not change and IHG will retain its 12 per cent stake in it. Raman Mehra, group COO, G L Hotels, said "GL Hotels and IHG mutually decided on February 25, 2005 that GLHL would manage the InterContinental Marine Drive. There will not be any change in perspective and the only improvements would be on the food and beverage front, which they are drawing plans for." Mehra confirmed that IHG would retain their 12 per cent stake and continue to be their valued partners. The international sales team of the IHG would still be supporting the property while IHG's top level management would continue their tenure at the hotel. This move essentially makes the InterContinental Marine Drive a franchisee property of IHG.
