Pfizer's business in India, over the years, has been relatively successful despite a repressive regulatory environment for pharmaceuticals in India. The newer products introduced over the past few years enjoy commanding positions in their respective therapeutic segments. Pfizer in India, has a completely different profile, vis-à-vis the parent company, and many other emerging market subsidiaries. Two of Pfizer India's brands, Corex-a cough formulation and Becosules-a multivitamin, continue to rank as the No.1 & 2 brands amongst all pharmaceuticals produced in India. Pfizer Ltd has the finest field force in the country, which continues to excel in generating increasing sales despite some of the stiffest price competition in the world.
