Jindal Photo Ltd. forged a technical and marketing tie-up with Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd., a Fortune 500 company of Japan, allowing it to source the raw material of various photo sensitized goods such as Color Roll Films, Photographic Color paper, Cinematographic Film (unexposed) positive etc. as well as specialized machines. Not only does Fuji provide Jindal Photo technical assistance regarding the processing of the raw materials provided by them, it also gives assitance and know-how for operating the machines inter-alia by the way of training to the engineers of the company. The company was authorized to use the FUJI trademark on Amateur Roll Films in February, 1992 and on Photo Color Paper from April, 1994, following Fuji's satisfaction with its performance and technical skills. Jindal had an edge over the brands from day one, in as much as Jindal started producing these films in India from Jumbo Rolls imported FUJI, Japan, whereas other brands in finished forms were being imported. The production of film from these rolls also entailed considerable value addition-this, coupled with low production costs as well as the Fuji name, enabled the company to firmly establish itself as the market leader in the business of photo-sensitized products in the country. Today Fuji Film is a force to be reckoned with and commands more than 35% of the market share.
