Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited today is the second largest integrated of refining and marketing company in India with a turnover of Rs.646.89 billion (US$14,709 Millions). The Corporation has already been identified the Government of India as a company which has the potential to become a global giant.
In the last one-year Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has been losing its status as the most sought after oil stock to its younger cousin Bharat Petroleum (BPCL). This is clearly evident from the performance of both the stocks in the last one-year. BPCL has outperformed HPCL by 50.3%. However it is perinent to mention here that HPCL on an absolute basis and in relative to BSE has given super returns in the last one-year.
