Agri-Business

GMR Group's Agri-Business comprises of a sugar plant located at Sankili in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh that has a cane crushing capacity of 5000 tonnes per day. Besides, it is also setting up two more sugar plants in  Karnataka.

Energy Business

When the Government of India threw open the power sector to investments from the private sector, GMR Group took a strategic decision to venture out into this sector. In a span of more than a decade, the Group has established its credentials in the sector.

The efforts are now seen in three power plants; GMR Energy Ltd. in Mangalore, GMR Power Corporation Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai and Vemagiri Power Generation Ltd. in Andhra Pradesh. The Group is also developing three more power projects are currently under development; GMR Badrinath Hydro Power Generation Pvt. Ltd. in Alaknanda, Uttarakhand, Kamalanga Power Project in Orissa and the Talong Power Project in Arunachal Pradesh.

Airports

GMR Group is developing a world-class Greenfield international airport in Shamshabad, Hyderabad and modernizing and restructuring the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Both these projects are being developed under Public-Private Partnership model.

Roads

GMR Group has already completed two road projects awarded by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) under the Golden Quadrilateral Scheme. It includes a 4 lane Highway between Tuni - Anakapalli on NH-5 in Andhra Pradesh for a distance of 60 km and the other between Tambaram - Tindivanam on NH-45 in Tamil Nadu for a distance of 93 km.

The Group has also bagged four more road projects across India which are under various stages of development.These include the four laning of the 35 km Ambala-Chandigarh road project, 107 km Adloor-Yellareddy-Gundla Pochanpalli stretch and 58 km Thondapalli-Jadcherla project on NH-7 in Andhra Pradesh and the 71 km Tindivanam-Ulunderpet stretch on NH-45 in Tamil Nadu. 

Other Businesses

 The Ferro Alloys unit is an ISO 9001 certified plant located in the Tekkali district of Andhra Pradesh. It manufactures internationally accepted high carbon ferro-chrome for the stainless steel industry. The unit exports 75% of the output to Europe, Korea, Japan & China.

The business since its establishment has provided job opportunities to several people located around the manufacturing division thereby improving their standard of living.  

The Ferro Alloys division which was hitherto a part of GMR Industries Ltd is now being hived off into a separate company, GMR Ferro Alloys and Industries Ltd.
