Rana Group of Companies made a humble beginning in mid 80's when Rana Gurjeet Singh, group's Managing Director, set-up Agro Boards Limited a Kraft Paper unit in Punjab. Success of this maiden venture was duly recognized by apex state owned industrial promotion corporations and this led to joint ventures of Rana Group with different state owned corporations.
Rana Sugars Limited is located at Village Buttar Seviyan, Tehsil Baba Bakala District Amritsar. The company is Joint Venture of Punjab Agro Industrial Corporation Limited. Factory started its crushing operation in Dec 1993. Initially the licensed crushing capacity of the Plant was 2500 Tonnes/day. Company was granted LOI for expansion of plant from 2500TCD to 5000TCD. The equipment for 5000TCD have been installed & commissioned during the season 1998-99 and is operative. RSL has setup a Demonstration Co-generation Project to produce extra power from the Bagasse(bye-product) and export it to PSEB, Grid Station,Sathiala. For the Co-generation Plant a 55 Ton Boiler at 65kg/cm2 pressure and 12 M.W. Extraction cum condensing TG set has been installed. A Grid station of 66 K.V. has been setup to export 12M.W power to PSEB from the crushing season 2001-2002. FINAL PRODUCT:
Final product of Rana Sugars Limited is Plantation White Sugar , broadly of these grades i.e. L-30, M-30 and S-30 conforming to the standard quality parameters. QUALITY PARAMETERS are as under:
1. Pol % -99.50 Minimum
2. Moisture % - 08 Maximum
3. Reducing Sugar % - 10 Maximum
4. SO2 ppm - 70 Maximum
5. CaO mg/100gm - 30 Maximum
